Lightweight, Rugged rig solutions for use with GH2 on a trekking expedition...

    Hi.

    I am on the lookout for a rig, particularly some sort of collapsible yet rugged reliable shoulder mount for the GH2.

    And a decent Tripod. I want to take this hiking and trekking on a journey which will take around 2 months.

    So I need it to be lightweight, rugged and sturdy.

    Suggestions?

    Consider the Edelkrone Pocket Rig and a third party handle.

    that looks quality, even if it is slightly expensive...but I am not sure what you mean by a "third party handle"

    For such usage I recommend Varavon rigs - http://www.varavon.com/product/sniper_list.html

    Usually they are on Monday deals :-)

    I am in the planning stages of an 840km trek (on foot) through the Pyrenees. I hope to make a short documentary on my journey. Something like the Varavon Sniper A7 looks great!! Apparently lightweight and compact.
