As you may know modern wireless standard exist to connect two HDMI devices called WHDI.

One of available devices has USB powered transmitter, so can be used with famous 5V/9V/12V battery.

Not the most compact solution, and range is also limited.

This is a similar 5 volt wireless unit we found on ebay for $200 and adapted to work with a 12 volt battery which is the top unit that also powers the monitor, hdmi splitter, and the camera ( were still waiting for that adapter ) , The receiver we have on the back of a 22 inch LCD monitor. Image quality is great, we havent really tested the limits of how far it will transmit.

i was looking for a solution to monitor what i'd be filming would i buy a copter, but this can be used elsewhere too i'm sure!

Used Paralinx Arrow and more than happy with the unit. It can go as far as 98 meters on our test (open air) and about 20 meters (for close room condition). Check out their website at http://paralinx.net/

The nyrius Aries Pro looks pretty much the same as the paralinx arrow and apparently they both can be used interchangeably. The nyrius is around $220 though so it's a pretty good bargain.

Yep, it is pretty common thing, chinese makes bunch of this.

Thing I referenced is relatively new and seems to have better antennas.

The Aries pro has now been raised to $799 by Nyrius!!! LOLOLOL Uncool, i will have to research these and other devices on PV now. So glad you guys are here though, other forums are a no show on this stuff.

We just bought the Amimon Connex. Many reviews on youtube support the claim of 1 km uncompressed hdmi.

Amimon is the company that makes the chips for all WHDI devices. Ordered it this week, hopefully it will arrive next week. If anyone is interested, I can record some test or review :)

It's 1700 euro in the EU, compared to paralinx or Terradek long range stuff, that's a steal :)

We tested the connex, and it's a great piece of hardware. No problem to have 20 meters perfect connection true an old 50 cm brick wall, also no problem for 1 km line of sight. The one kilometer is actually a firmware restriction, after 1100 meters it displays a message. It would be great if someone could hack the firmware and remove the restriction. With 2 amp 5.8 ghz boosters and yagi antenna's, i'm sure it could to a lot better :)

Alexauwa, am also curious too about proven workable solutions which are in the sub two hundred ish USD price range. Suitable for the director's monitor, without needing to be tied down to them (hate that!).
