Interesting stuff from http://image-sensors-world.blogspot.com/2012/04/panasonic-talks-about-micro-machined.html

It is GH2 sensor, btw:
1080/60p sounds good!
Anything interesting you can point out for us non engineers? Are there any hidden features in the hardware not employed?
It says capable of full HD 1080/60p by means of pixel addition? So is this like 1080i? upres?
So why is Panasonic just releasing this info?
Because they are now offering them to third parties :-)
It'll amazing to get full information they are providing to third party manufacturers.
@DisneyToy @Vitaliy_Kiselev Is "pixel addition" meant to differentiate it from "line skipping" and a reference to the method by which the GH2 preserves resolution better in video mode than many of its competitors?
I am not familiar with the term so that is just my wild guess based on looking at these posts and I would like to know if it is right.
It means that sensor combine pixels all by itself and sends to LSI already downscaled RAW image.
Very cool stuff...
Yes if they can provide full info, that will be nice. We just gonna make our on PV cam just the way we want lol. This kinda gives me hope for the up coming GH3 cuz im sure they are working to top that.
GH-2 sensor, raw output to SSD, m43 mount. True Anamorphic 2x 1.5x and 1.33x ratios. 100frame per second at 1080p 2K for $1k
this is quite interesting, looks like the capabilities at this point are just scratching the surface of what it could do.
