DXOmark review:
My personal short review:
I'll start with everyone's concern, the Chinese ROM. After carefully configuring the phone, I've manage to get rid of 99% of Chinese language and all apps with the exception of very few core ones like the Oppo market store, Oppo search, Breno AI etc. But I manage to configure the phone in a what that I don't interact at all with those features, thus my normal experience is like with an European ROM. The phone came with Google Play store installed and all my previous apps are working without any issue what so ever, including the banking ones etc. There are some very few restrictions like: the Google Auto, "Hey" Google, Files by google, Google location history etc, that are no working, but I have 0 interest in them. For my needs everything operation system related works perfectly fine.
Hardware wise about this phone is top notch:
The screen is fabulously good and comes factory calibrated.
The stereo speakers are detailed, loud and have an ample presence. The DAC is also of a very good quality, connecting a pair of good headphones through a dongle gives a Hi-Fi sound experience.
The battery charges very quickly, and it lasts for a long time.
The cameras are the best in the industry, rivaling dedicated cameras that cost more. I really like the default out of camera JPG's from all 5 cameras, and the ability to shoot DNG RAW in the native app is a big plus. I really love what Oppo did in the photo department with this phone, honestly I bought the phone exactly fro this porpoises and I was not disappointed! On the contrary, I've discoverer how poorly was this phone reviewed by everyone this far (the image quality is much better then suggested), and the camera app, very feature rich.
The video is top notch as well, richly detailed and nicely colored 4K 60p on all cameras, including the selfie one.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, together with 16 GB of RAM, work flawlessly in any app or game I've stressed the phone so far.
The phone comes with an 100W fast charger, USB cable, case and screen protection attached in the package. Nice add-ons!
The battery lasts over 2 days at 120HZ and about 4 days at 60HZ, in my normal usage scenarios.
In my humble opinion the phone is phenomenal!
P.S.: When the weather will bet nicer, I'll post sample photos as well.

Oppo just released a new system update that incorporates AF camera improvements.
I confirm, the ultra wide which had focusing issues (sometimes it was setting the focus to close and at a distance it was soft), now focuses properly in auto mode, the resulting images are very good and detailed, as they should!
Preliminary tests show improved DR in the shadows as well, a nice supersize.
A few comparisons between out of camera unedited JPG at default 12,5 MP resolution, and a 50 MP edited RAW image from the Oppo Find X7 Ultra.

Motion Artifacts
The image quality from the 50 Mp RAW files is vastly superior by shooting from a tripod, instead of hand-held. As it can be seen, the hand-held image (on of the right) is full of worm like artifacts (most probably a results of computational staking). Another interesting aspects is that motion in the frame is not affected; while taking the first picture, there was a men passing by, and he had no motion artifacts what so ever.
In conclusion, it's best to shoot the 50 MP raw's with the phone leaning on something if a tripod is not available.

Oppo Find X7 Ultra update brings 25MP photo mode
The May 2024 update enables a new 25MP photo capture mode in the default camera app. By default, the Find X7 Ultra captures stills in right around 12.5MP from its main 50MP Quad-Bayer camera. 25MP is a nice and convenient “middle ground” of sorts between that resolution and the full 50MP resolution of the sensor.
The update itself seems to already be live and is quite hefty, weighing in at 946.26 MB.

June update
Adds 0.6x-10x zoom options in Action mode for a better photography experience.
Optimizes the skin tone and contrast of portraits to make them look more natural and delicate.
Optimizes photography for distant scenes with a periscope telephoto lens, a huge breakthrough for the Al algorithm team. They have created a new algorithm by integrating a brand-new Al model, developed in-house, into the super light and shadow image engine.

I could only wish they'd implement this feature for all camera sensors!

P.S. Oppo calls it "25MP photo mode" but it is incorrect, since the resolution is 5888x4416 pixels.

Personal observations about the image quality of Oppo Find X7 Ultra, based on Android 15 November update:
You get the best JPG quality utilizing the higher res 26 MP default option (only available on the main camera, good light and in photo mode). I found the results to be very good.
The 72mm 3x zoom in photo mode also adds an additional crop (digital focal length). To avoid this, you can use the 3x in portrait mod, which utilizes the optical focal length of 65mm.
Below are observations made only for the main 1" sensor:
12.5 MP RAW photos at shutter speeds longer than 1/15 sec have no NR between ISO 400 and ISO 32.00. Note: -ISO values 50-325 and 4,000-12,800 have NR applied in RAW. - At shutter speeds faster than 1/15 sec, 12.5 MP RAW photos have no NR up to ISO 3200.
50 MP RAW photos can only be taken at shutter speeds faster than 1/15 sec and in good light! Note: - By far the best ISO value for 50 MP photos is ISO 50, ISO 100 has artifacts taken in the same conditions - Depending on the light intensity, ISO 50 is 50MP (in good light) and 12.5MP (in low light) for a shutter speed faster than 1/15 sec. The user has no control over this setting.
