[Request] Canon Legria Mini HDMI Hack

Hello together, yesterday I found my good old Canon Legria and thought to myself: This would be a perfect "webcam" for our DnD table. Unfortunately this camera only sends a signal through its HDMI port if it is in "view recordings" mode. Is there a possibility to hack the firmware to allow HDMI output while recording? I'm all in to do the hard work myself, I just need a starting point.

Starting point is to sell it and buy camera with live HDMI output, if you need it.
