What exactly is "the cost of Ptools"?

haha, I am guessing camera34 met someone that said they could hack their GH2, but they would need several hundred dollars to buy some certified P-tools for the process =D

For the confused newcomers Ptools is a free download.

Here is How it works. You download ptools and download the penultimate firmware version of GH2

Then you put on ptools software the firmware you downloaded and then download a patch here we have different patches like film stocks you put in on the ptools and patch the firmware then you put that on an SD card then the se card onto the camera turn on the camera with full battery and press the play button formseveral seconds and an update will appear. You press ok and update the firmware of your camera. There are several videos on YouTube just search for GH2 ptools.

@camera34 it is very easy. As said by endotoxic, you just need to be sure to have the right firmware on your gh2. Newest won't work if I remember correctly.

Download p-tools here and follow the directions, and take it from there. A patched/hacked GH2 is still a beautiful thing to behold and honestly I feel 99% of people would be very satisfied with the quality of the video and save themselves thousands of dollars over the newest "best" cameras.
