Laowa 1.33x Anamorphic Adapter

  • It can be used on a number of cinema lenses besides the OOOM 25-100 listed below. For those with more expensive cinema lenses who want to add nondescript flaring and distortion to the bokeh, it may be a way to take the edge off of a sharp, contrasty pro cinema lenses and give it more of a vintage look. As compared to real anamorphic cinema lenses or front anamorphic adapters, it had some advantages and disadvantages.

    Disadvantage

    1. No oval bokeh.

    2. Does not add the classic anamorphic streaking lens flares.

    3. Does not stretch as wide as a regular anamorphic lens.

    Avantages

    1. It does not add breathing to the lens, where most less expensive anamorphic lenses breath.

    2. Less bulky than front anamorphic adapters.

    3. Can work with wide angle lens, that may not work so well with front anamorphic adapters.

    4. Inexpensive compared to other rear PL anamorphic adapters.
