  • Google may begin in June withholding US income tax on the income of YouTube bloggers from other countries, the company said.

Google may begin withholding U.S. taxes on earnings you generate from viewers in the U.S. as early as June 2021. Please submit your U.S. tax info in AdSense as soon as possible. If your tax info isn’t provided by May 31, 2021, Google may be required to deduct up to 24% of your total earnings worldwide. If you’re a creator in the U.S., you may have already submitted your tax info. Check your tax info in your AdSense account to be sure.

This sets very dangerous precedent. As will also allow to soon tax everyone who have any communication with US citizen or made any work for US company, despite they live in different country.

They just need money and lot of them.

If you ask me it will look like Google collecting money and special law that allow Google to keep them almost entirely. As they already are robbing creators, officially they get 45%, but unofficially I hear rumors that Google gets around 94-97% on income for small channels using tricks with adsense as you can't check anything.
