Without any specific information being conveyed, this so far looks like an exercise in creating a PR-video based on no more than an (very old) idea.

As sole idea with this curved sensors is to allow mobile cameras to be slimmer.

Except Sony announced this years ago, I think. Liquid lens are another trick which reduces lens size, with nice quality
