  • Light output change with time (as battery gets depleted)

    image

Not bad, as most of the time it can keep output.

    But ideally must be such:

Light has nice compact construction and knobs are fast and easy to adjust, screen is nice.

    image

Led panel is quite complex here, as it has 3 different kind of leds.

    image

Large ones are RGB, one warm and one cool white leds.

    image

Note how nice can see each PWM channel on controller board (R,G, B, Y is warm white, B is daylight white)

    image

Soldering is average, with few small areas with flux remains (I mean board parts, for wires it is usually ok).

    image

Other side of controller board with screen and knobs.

    image

Nice touch is alu radiator, despite that it is small and won't have much effect for leds located not underneath.

  • I got this about a week ago and am extremely happy with it. It's easy to use, pretty light for handheld work, and has good diffusion as well. The added hotshoe adapter is solid and allows for tilting which is another plus. I'm thinking about getting another one since it would make a great background accent light as well.

As you can see on CIE chart, colors are very good and saturated, so you can produce with easy much wider gamut than sRGB/Rec 709.

  • ANDYCINE AL-360 RGB (Tungsten 3200K setting), Measurement using CV600, Russian Lab processing

We cover spectrum, color temperature, and all modern color quality standards, including latest 2016 and 2017 years ones.

Never select light based on just CRI number.

Focus on TM30 and CIE 224 and look for color distortion and Rf values.

ANDYCINE AL-360 is quite good light with light quality suitable for videos.

  • @tcarretti This light can work as key light for night portrait (still) if I want to work with continuous light?

  • @Manu4Vendetta As long as you're not too far away from your subject I think it would work sufficiently for portrait stills. I'm not a photographer, but some of the video footage I've shot with this light looks really nice.

  • @Manu4Vendetta

If you ask me - look for lights without diffused panel, and better still - look for narrow angles lights. If you want to light someone face most efficiently and for longer time. :-)

if you want real diffused light check

  • Thanks @tcarretti and @Vitaliy_Kiselev the curved LED from Lishuai dont have price yet and the Andycine AL-360 RGB its very cheap.

  • @MikeLinn

    Quite fun review.

    • It is very common not to have DC power source
    • Sony NP-F batteries are standard for such lights and monitors, Canon batteries are usually optional mount and around 10x more rare
    • Thing with clicks is overrated, it is either resistor with limits or such deal.
    • Issue with light not turning off happens only on external DC input (present in our review).
  • I left a comment about NP-F batteries. It seems absolutely crazy/weird to say that a device that uses them is wrong for doing it. They are some of the cheapest, most popular, and useful batteries in the industry.
