The Sony RX100 VI has a 24 fps burst mode, which gives you a sequence of Fine Jpeg stills for over 9 seconds. So, you can make a 4K24P video from 5.5K "frames" (with 422 chroma subsampling).
Here is a test 4K video using this technique (no more difficult to make than a time-lapse):

The big advances of the VI over the predecessor RX100's is the long zoom and the ability to use the touch screen to focus. For videographers, an issue is whether you can zoom while shooting - is the zoom too fast, too wobbly, noisy, does it lose focus? And for the touch screen: what do the focus pulls look like?
