Going down: HTC smartphone manufacturer

For quite long time firm is going down, steady. Very similar to Blackberry.
Today they announced cut of another 1500 high qualified employees.
It is also expected that HTC will stay for about 1-2 years in premium segment only and after this will shut the doors. -
All smart phones will be gone in 10 years, and PHS will reign supreme. Smart phone carriers know this and it is why Yahoo (Y-mobile) actively bought and systematically shut down the last PHS carrier in Japan. They hope all the equipment will be dismantled before the public wants the option they never knew was the best. Fully expect you to say I am crazy ;)
