Here's an idea--instead of getting rid of the headphone jack, add a stereo mic input instead of this mono garbage. After all, you could use it as a video cam really easy with a basic stereo input.

@DrDave Only a small percentage of people even realize or care that it's a mono mic. No monetary benefit to Google in adding a nice feature like mic input. Those days are long gone...
