GH4 Firmware 2.3, V-log for $99, Epic Panasonic marketing fail

Panasonic never fixed it. The way they designed V-Log L on the GH4, 8-bit precision is just not enough. The high compression hurts things also.
V-Log L is fine when you record externally with 10-bit precision.
For internal 8-bit recording, you just need to use a different photo style. Cinelike D is just as good as V-Log L when given proper treatment in post, such as my Logarist LUTs or Paul Leeming's.
