First Nikon D850 vs. D810 high ISO comparison published online:
Chip helping with AF performance
Such approach now happens as corporations can't make new LSI, so they make such chips using cheap old processes and add to old known LSI.
Main AF sensor used in SLR mode
Anyone know where I can download some video sample footage from the D850....I am looking for original .mp4 or .mov files so I can see if I can import this footage into PremPro CS5 without transcoding.
If I cant import this footage straight into PP I will also test to see if I can transcode footage using Cineform codec.
D850 ISO Test
@Azo To bad the author changed the bloody aperture and made the test useless at higher ISO's. Why the hack didn't he used f/8 and only changed the shutter speed is beyond my comprehension. :(
Adobe officially supports the D850. There is the link to download the ACR: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html?red=a&tduid=6e2fb34f1c1249897f4e0e2a101d1274&url=https%3A%2F%2Fhelpx.adobe.com%2Fcamera-raw%2Fkb%2Fcamera-raw-plug-in-installer.html
And some comparisons with D810 at ISO 6400 and 25600 (resolution matched).
8K Timelapse
Yeah I agree the test is basically useless. Thanks for putting up the ISO test. I am surprised that they could increase the resolution to 46MP whilst maintaining the same high ISO performance as the D810. I don't really need 46MP but I can see it coming in handy for certain situations. I am 90% sure I will by this camera but if I do I gotta sell my Fuji XT-2 ;-( Once you shoot and understand all the benefits of mirrorless it does make it a little difficult to go back to a DSLR with the exception of the D850 that is ;-} LOL. GAS syndrome really sucks ;-)
The goal of this release is to provide additional camera raw support, lens profile support and address bugs that were introduced in previous releases of Camera Raw.

I'm glad to see Nikon keep their word about the one stop better low light against D810. But unfortunately most of the people will use the camera (up to 6400) where the difference is smaller than 1/3 of a stop.

I am not so sure about that it depends on what you are shooting and what type of Photography/Videography you are doing. Me personally for the type of stuff that I shoot I try to shoot at ISO 100 as much as possible for better color fidelity, dynamic range, noise etc and try to never go above ISO 800.
Now if I were strictly an event shooter then yeah you have a point lowlight shooting is pretty much a guarantee. Even then though it looks as though it performs really well considering it is a 46MP camera. In regards to events even that depends on what type of event you are shooting and weather or not flash photography/constant lighting is allowed or not.
In regards to Photography with my wireless Godox monolights/speedlights. I simply put various monolights and speed lights throughout the venue and never have a problem shooting consistently with a shutter speed of 60-125, ISO of 320-640 @ F/4 with an OIS lens. So for me the ISO 6400 and above is a non issue. Truthfully and candidly speaking I think we are at a point where the gear that you have doesn't matter.
Everything from Nikon, Canon, Sony, Fuji, Panasonic within the last 5 years will get the job done. The lowlight performance from APSC sized cameras such as the Fuji XT2, Sony A6500, Samsung NX1, Nikon D7200 etc are all more then enough and some have even better dynamic range then Canon's full frame cameras.
Everybody just wants the latest and greatest even though they don't really need it including myself. IMO from what I have seen so far this is probably the best well rounded camera that is available to date. Is it perfect nope, but for the asking price of $3300.00 USD and all that it can do it is definitely at the top of my list for its price point. That being said if I were shooting 80% video and 20% stills I would probably choose the GH5 over everything else.
