Nikon 1 system cameras are no longer made
  • All of the current Nikon 1 models are wither out of stock or old stock shipped to dealers.
Both bodies and lenses are no longer produced and will be out of sale completely in coming months.

  • Over here in the Netherlands, Nikon 1 bodies and lenses (including the expensive primes) have been heavily discounted by dealers for about six weeks, selling for a fraction of the original price. I actually thought that this wasn't news anymore.

  • Well the only question is: Will any technician ever step to rehouse the Nikon 1 lens optics into fully mechanical lens bodies (for example, with c-mount)? As a matter of fact, the current Nikon 1 lens line-up, particularly the 10mm/2.8, 18.5mm/1.8 and 32mm/1.2 are world-class Super 16 optics for less than a tenth of the price of an equivalent Super 16 cine lens...

Good advice - get a pair of good bodies and set of lenses.

As next Nikon mirrorless system will be big FF for big rich snobs.

And why you need rehousing of electronically controlled lens ? :-) I mean, seriously.

  • Dunno how the other lenses are, but the 10-30VR that comes with the camera feels kind of flimsy. It has super fast autofocus though

  • @Vitaliy_Kiselev What would you buy and why?
