You mean Sony sensor under Varicam brand?

  • @Vitaliy_Kiselev

Absolutely cheap, no. Relatively cheap… maybe? If it keeps the Varicam sensor and is appreciably under 10K, it'd be a bargain. Relatively speaking.

  • @roly

One thing we know for sure - it won't be cheap.

For now it is mockup, most probably made to check feedback.

  • @ endotoxic

Do you have any inside information or is this just speculation on your part?

All images of the new Panasonic camera show it with full-frame Canon EOS-mount lenses, so I would be surprised if it has a m/43 sensor given that it features an EF mount. Hopefully it will have the same S35 sensor as the Varicam cameras, most likely with fewer in-camera recording options.

    We shall see.

  • Here is the brochure for the AG-UMR20 recorder and AG-UCK20 camera: http://pro-av.panasonic.net/en/sales_o/broch_pdf/ag-umr20_uck20.pdf

The camera is a bit larger than a typical action camera, but has a 20x optical zoom lens. You need the recorder to be able control the camera or get any video out of it. Records H.264 but maxes out at 50 Mbps for 2160p30.

Little bit of an unusual setup, I guess it's intended for live events, concerts and such.

  • Seagate/DJI Fly Drive

    image

    • The 2 TB of space stores over 60 hours of DJI drone footage at 4K (approx. 250 flights). Rather than keeping a stack of individual microSD cards, Seagate says their drive will help keep drone pilots more organized.
    • The built-in microSD slot makes it easier to quickly backup storage, since computer makers (especially Apple) have been dropping the number of ports included with new models. When plugged into a computer, the microSD card will read as a second external drive that you can then choose to either drag onto your computer or the Fly Drive.
    • The drive is rated UHS-II and works with the latest generation of computers with either USB 3.1 or Thunderbolt 3.
    • The cable tucks into the back of the case, keeping it stored nicely and paired with the Fly Drive.
    • The Fly Drive is protected by a bumper, which makes it drop resistant in the field.
    • The Fly Drive will ship with a 2-month membership to Adobe Premiere Pro CC.

  • @bradneffphoto

Sure. I heard that they will have Casey signature version for vloggers, this one I can arrange :-)

  • Agree with roly. Perhaps Vitaliy will arrange a group buy (for the Panavisions :o).

  • I think I'll get a couple of those Panavisions. That colour science will really help my Youtube cat videos get that cinematic look. What, rental only, you say? Dammit!

One a more serious note, the Atomos sumo looks killer for multicam shoots and on-set monitoring (and even grading), at that price.
