I really don't know, you can ask the author in Youtube. I've just found it on YI M1 group on Facebook. But unfortunately, it seems that we don't have manual control over iso, shutter speed etc.. in video mode with this camera. If i could get one of those for $300 it could be a good combo with the BM 4k video assist...
Well, it is already actually such price if you assume lens and with free shipping, check previous page as today is last day of sale.
Sadly, the M1 doesn’t feature great low light performance and scales videos to Full HD although its advertised as an 4K camera.

It seems like site made more for google than for people, with very strange text and statements.
None of statements have any foundation. And as I understand they never actually touch camera.

This is complete bullshit.
good, if so
It is definitely rubbish piece of text made for search engines.
The camera allows no manual selection of aperture / shutter time or ISO in video. The only option is a manual correction for over-/under-exposure (+/- 5 EV). Focus mode is forced to C-AF. If you use a manual lens, it will give you at least the option to control focus and aperture manually
The camera does not provide flat picture profiles (like the Cine gammas or S-Log profiles on Sony cameras) which would give much more room for grading in post processing
Currently there is no option to remotely start the recording or remotely trigger a photo shot. Even if there were an option through BLE / WiFi, this would interfere with the 2.4 GHz remote controllers used for most drones. The camera does not support 5.8 GHz WiFi.
In 4K mode, the recording time is limited to only 7 1/2 minutes! YI explains this with the 4GB file size limit but as the memory cards are formatted with exFat, I see no reason to not go beyond that limit. Even if the file size would be limited by the underlying operating system, the camera could continue to write into another file after 4GB are reached for the first file as many other cameras do as well. I tested two subsequent recordings and I could not see any overheating issue - at least not at room temperature and a recording time of 15 minutes which in my opinion would be the minimum requirement in order to be used on a drone.
The camera has a micro HDMI port but this can only be used for playback. When you record a video and plug in an HDMI cable, the camera immediately stops recording and switches to playback mode. If the camera would be used on a drone, it would have to support also live HDMI output during recording. For me, this is the major downside of this camera at the moment.
The camera provides pretty good results with its automatic settings. The auto exposure works well and the focus is adjusted smoothly. As in 4K mode the camera crops only about 8 MP in 16:9 aspect ratio from the 20 MP 4:3 sensor, you have to take into account an additional crop factor. In 4K video mode, I would estimate the crop factor at about 2.4 - 2.5x which makes it quite difficult to record wide angle videos.

The 42.5mm F1.8 prime kit lens doesn't have a true manual focus ring as the ring is there purely for cosmetic purposes. As a work-around YI developed an interesting way of 'manually' focusing the lens via the touchscreen which features an 'Up-arrow' and a 'Down-arrow' when the prime lens is attached to the camera and you are shooting with manual focus enabled. Using these arrows you are able to adjust your focus point by making small, or very large adjustment in focus via a short or long press of the button, respectively. This feature can also be used while using the 2x and 4x magnification mode via a press of the 'O' button on the back of the camera.
1080/60p video looks good and keeps up with the competitors. The sharpening isn't aggressive as some of the competitors, but the footage does look fairly nice. The 4K video footage shot is really nice, the 4K footage keeps up with the competition in terms of detail. Ultimately, though, it still falls behind the industry leading Sony a6300.

Another review
The M1 uses a 20-megapixel Sony sensor that produces either JPEG or DNG RAW files, but not both at the same time as some Micro Four Thirds cameras do. The image quality of both the RAW and JPG files is quite good. I found the color rendition of the JPGs to be a bit washed out, but the RAW files had decent dynamic range.

For this price i think it worth the gamble. With a cheap focal reducer you might get very decent images for this price. And maybe it can be hacked in the future... Who knows..
V1.2 firmware
I am keeping the Yi M1 (especially as I can pass it off as a Leica!) because it produces images as good as the Pen F for considerably less and as a second body I’m not terribly concerned about its actual in hand performance. Yi has demonstrated a commitment to this product as evidenced by its many firmware iterations. With time this camera could evolve into a competent performer.
