Samsung really blew it by killing the NX line. They got 95 percent of things right, and could have really disrupted the market with version 2.0 of their cameras. That rolling shutter measurement is impressive.

It is capitalism. Only profits matter. Nothing else.

Well, one thing is they should have had an x264 option. Most ppl could not handle x265 at the time it came out. But x265 is fine with me.

Something tells me that it has nothing to so with sales and profit numbers.

x264 not only required more complex main chip, but it also required larger RAM buffers.

Yeah the RS is incredible in 2.5K mode.

NX500 does not have log profiles.

About hack plans you better ask at http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7404/samsung-nx300-nx500-nx1-cameras-hack but I am not sure. I think they lack any good reversers, and thing require understanding NX1 firmware good and try to port some to NX500.

Love this camera. Unfortunately price is going up, not down.

So there's a hack now to get 2.5k with the NX500? Where can I get more info if it's true. What are the pros and cons of 2.5k on this camera?
