Well, it is very hard to say anything about such comparisons, as they depend on lenses also and ton of settings. And this is if you see source files, not edited stuff (that can be also affected by other things).
I think that comparison with the 1DC you looked at was with an early version of NX1 firmware. In any case, you can drop the green channel by whatever amount suits you in the profiles of the NX1.
Color of Nx-1 is a nightmare. Not only gree, but reds can be brutal, nearly eye hurting . If you have grading skills, this won't matter. The perfect camera was a NX-2 with 422 10 bit, fuji color science, a log profile and 240 fps at full hd. I would never need another Camera.
huh? color in nx1 is damn good. don't look at anything from older firmwares. Andrew loves the nx1 by the way. even reids relatively thin nx1 guide has some ok tips to get best results. You have to dial back sharpness and saturation in camera. It has that consumer color punch thing just like tvs in stores. Easily handled.
both raw photo and video are highly gradeable. even quick grades make big differences because it has such a quality image.
Coming from the Panasonic GH2, GH3, GH4, then the Canon T3i and finally the Sony A7s, I'd say the NX1's color is my favorite.
I love the Nx-1 in many ways, but i struggle with colors. I admit I have no color grading skills. I always loved the preset colors coming from the gh2. I am a lazy hobbyist.
utezat what gamma mode do you shoot in? The camera can be as punchy or desaturated as you want. I like fuji color too and NX1 can be graded in that style.
@utezet You should check out that big thread on EOSHD about 'NX1 Ideal Settings'. The Vivid settings look to deliver great out-of-the-box color.
An interesting discussion. I'll check out Reid's settings. I still would like to see a side-by-side with say, 5DMkIII or Nikon D750 with people.
Lower price happens on last batch in big stores, and almost all is gone already. So, next low price will come in around 1.5-2 years and it'll be just few bodies on ebay.
I guess you are right. I should have take one when I saw it at 700 and 800€ :( ... Now I can't even find one used at that price (EU).
I believe this is still the best camera for 4K video and slow-mo with a price under 1500€. I was hoping on Sony A6300, but the heat problems looks to be there.
Regarding the Brodie Dawson interview: Color looks right, but skins are smeared and it's pretty unsharp. Maybe t was caused by high iso noise reduction, but more likely the exporting codec settings were pretty low. Blacks have severe makroblocking and bending. All i all it looks not good enough to my eyes.

Over the past several months, the NX1 (and its downscaled counterpart, the NX500) has quietly vanished from store shelves. Given the age of the products (the NX1 was announced in September of 2014) the idea of them being discontinued at this point isn’t altogether shocking or unexpected. What’s troubling is that no replacement models have been announced; Samsung didn’t even show any NX cameras or lenses at the most recent Consumer Electronics Show. Either Samsung is sandbagging its next camera release for reasons unknown, or, more realistically, it’s quietly exiting the market.
