I think this is a camera sturdily built, with great performance in extreme situations. I'm curious about its video ability, sure it has no AVCHD and, more important, no manual control in video mode.
It is same as Sony cameras and Nikon D7000, all of them use same Sony sensor. Moire is easy to spot, few other problems. So, if you are up to the photos and just occasionally want to shoot some video it can be ok (after learning how to make proper exposure locks). But as video oriented camera it is not that you want.
It's a pity they didn't consider to enhance the video mode with manual control... Especially looking at the results in still mode. As you said it has the same Sony sensor but the DR it's quite impressive compared with d7000.
