Drone Lighting
  • An article from MIT describes a system of self-positioning drones used for lighting videos. Looks interesting. But I wonder whether such lighting would ever work outdoors, given the weight of batteries to power decent video lights, and the issue of disturbing sound recording by loud chopper noise...

  • That seems totally doomed by physics. Battery lifespan is a major limiting factor of drones that AREN'T carrying lights or powering them.

    I mean, yes, it's cool, and the capability of the drone to maintain a position relative to the subject is also amazing, but in real life I really doubt this will be particularly practical. Tom Airboxlights.com
