DVX200 V Log & Speedgrade in PS. Note fine grain.
why is it everything I've seen from this camera looks mediocre or downright poor, including the demos from Panasonicto show off boken, color, detail. Is it this bad or can no one shoot?
I'm sure it's a bit of that and also that they are still tweaking it before the final production model.
I love the form factor and would love to see some real tests comparing it to the GH4 in terms of footage quality and low light performance once it's officially out.
I find the GH4 shines in low light with a speed booster and a f2.0 prime stopped down to f2.8 (1 stop in and all manual focus). I think that is what the this camera (as much as I like the specs) won't be able to do.
Has anyone seen if the lens is parfocal or not either electronic or manual, or if it's not is the auto focus is an improvement over the GH4 when in 4k mode ? I tend to use the 45-175 for 4k stuff when I'm zooming like sports as it acts like it is par focal and works well enough for me setting manual focus at the max zoom I want if I have enough light to set the f-stop at around 12-14 ish.

With the new USB recording support, does this mean we can plug a USB hard drive into the DVX200, mounted as an accessory, and have potentially hours of recording time?
As I understand - this is whole idea.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev Cool. It means I might buy a camera which has hours of recording on hard drive -- like the 30GB Sony which I bought in 2005.
