Just got a GX8, no auto iso in manual video mode, still! also possible flickr reduction bug, set it in usual PASM modes under video tab then enter dedicated video mode and it switches it off and greys it out.
The GX8 follows in the steps of other high-end G-series cameras and is designed for serious enthusiasts.
Lens Firmware-up is comming out for GX8 Dual I.S. today.

While in Halfiax working with the Panasonic Canada team, I have been using the GX8 pre-production model to shoot with. I went out last night with it and the 15mm f1.7 sumilux and was really impressed with how it felt, looked, and performed. The 15mm isn't a stabilized lens, so the body stabilization was a very welcomed addition (coming from a gh4) I have attached some photos below to show some different scenarios.
After reading about this camera I still don't know for sure if the stabilisation works on video mode. If I use this camera with a Panasonic Leica 25 1.4 will I get any kind of stabilisation on the lens? Anything close to the Oly's OMD series? If so, I'll probably save up and go for this one as it has nice upgrades from the previous and my current GX7 model.
The new 20 megapixel sensor and dual image stabilization system prove to be less important than the much-improved OLED viewfinder and free-angle OLED rear screen, which along with the new exposure compensation dial, second control dial and an even larger number of customizable controls make the DMC-GX8 one of the best-handling compact system cameras currently on the market.

Video quality is very good, with lens based optical image stabilisation helping keep the video steady, even when recording hand-held, as shown in the video below, however for the best results a tripod is recommended. Sensor based image stabilisation isn't available while recording videos, however electronic image stabilisation is an option when recording FullHD video, but not 4K video.
There are Snap Movie options, filter settings, highlight shadow options, diffraction compensation, luminous level settings, mic level adjustment display (four levels), and wind noise cancellation options, meaning there are slightly fewer options available when compared to the G7.
4K / UHD video options include: MP4: 3820x2160, 25p or 24p, 100Mbps, AAC. Full HD 1080p video options include AVCHD or MP4 compression, with the camera offering AVCHD: 50p, 28Mbps / 25p, 24Mbps / 24p, 24Mbps, MP4: 50p, 28Mbps, AAC / 25p, 20Mbps, AAC and there are lower resolution options including 720p (at 25p), and VGA (at 25p).
