Things are tough. People do not buy things. Sony specially tells to push products more active as test samples next time can be limited.
I like the look of the JPG's B&W at high ISO, look like analogic. Remember me a little the ISO 6400 of my NEX-5N.

One thing I discovered about half way into the shoot was that the camera has a tendency to overheat when recording in 4K for extended periods.
As far as I see feedback, it overheats both in FF and S35 modes.
Rolling shutter
It seems that some initial tests strongly point out that in crop S35 mode A7RII has a much lower noise level compared to FF mode. This just doesn't make much sense to me. I understand how direct pixel readout would result in a much more detailed image and absense of moire. But with FF pixel bining readout I would expect the noise to be lower compared to crop. The only possibilities I see here is either A7RII in FF doing a primitive heavy line skipping or having some kind of efficient noise reduction in S35.
A7R II only does pixel bining in S35 4K mode, all other mode is line skipping, hence it got worst rolling shutter in S35 4K mode, but all other mode is pretty fast.
@cehkc I agree about the lower noise in s35 mode. Its to the point that it looks like a different camera. Wouldnt make sense to have different NR processing for the 2 different modes. Really curious about this.
Are they still using compressed raw with the A7r ii? Neither of the Sony images here show the shadows absolutely falling apart like my a6000 does when pushed even 3 stops.
Smallrig has a cage in 'development' also:

No. It does neither pixel binning nor line skipping in Super 35 mode up to 30 fps. In all other modes, it does pixel binning or line skipping. Sony hasn't specified which.
@balazer Oops you are right I con confused

Sony A7 R ii gets most focused marketing company in last years (for Sony at least).
Mine showed up today. Are there any specific questions/requests for footage, etc. that people have which haven't already been covered in the bazillion or so reviews?
