2 bad cams and SW engineers are cheaper and more marcketable than nice bigger sensors&optics. Great
Nope. They have the point.
A novel idea, this could the way of the future for all phone cameras? As phones have to stay very slim, they can't simply get thicker and thicker with bigger sensors and the bigger lenses that they'd need. The Panasonic CM1 is already stretching the limits of that.

Samsung NX mini is even better :-)
I think next step will be integration of TOF camera modules (ala Kinect) and ultra fast sensors for AF. Main sensor will be slower and low noise, while additional sensors will allow to see the world before camera at 240-720fps.
