Variabler framerate is available in AVCHD FHD 24p/25p, MOV and MP4(LPCM) 24p, 25p/30p 100Mb. Se advanced manual p 215. I have tested and yes it works.

This was my first personal project with my new Panasonic GH4 camera. I have a bit of a learning curve ahead of me as my previous experience was only with camcorders. Lenses used were the Panasonic 14-45mm, 45-175mm and Olympus 60mm macro. Other equipment included the Benro S6 tripod and Glideshot jib. Shot standard and cine-v all 0s. ISO 800 and 1600.

Wait a sec, Bloom's vid said he used the BMPCC Speedbooster on the Gh4? Isn't that supposed to be, uh, not-feasible?

Nah just says he used the BMCC speed booster.

@kingmixer According to Bloom you can use the BMCC Speedbooster for the best results, but you have to enable the electronic shutter or you can possibly damage the mechanical one.

I've been through the in-depth pdf instructions, but can't seem to find a way to store current settings into any of the two C user profiles. The only menu options I can find are to over ride current camera settings with what is already stored in C1 or C2. Any ideas?

@mrbill that is the one to use and you have C1, C2 and 3 C3 settings to use.

@AdamT your resolution test could be more voluble if 4K standard profile downsamle to 1080p vs GH3 standard 1080 profile compere to see the benefits of 4K to HD converting. :)

@AdamT Philip made it sound like a walk in the park and I'm guessing it generally is for someone familiar with using the Speedbooster on multiple cameras. Personally I wouldn't recommend it either since it can potentially damage your spanking new GH4. Gaining an f-stop of light along with a wider field of view is extremely tempting but until they develop an adapter that does just that without the risks I'll be using my wide angle lens and exposure zebras.

@Killagram I agree... the relatively minor advantage of the bm speedbooster compared to using the regular m43 speedbooster isn't worth the risk on a new $1700 cam.

It would be cool if they made an MFT to MFT speed booster that would restore the full image circle when shooting 4K, so you'd get the regular 2X crop instead of 2.4X crop. Electronics would just be pass through so that shouldn't be a big deal.

A m4/3 to m4/3 speedbooster wouldn't work, there is nowhere to put it, and the boosted image wouldn't cover the sensor. You need a lens with a long flange distance and large image circle (i.e. an slr/dslr lens) and a camera with a short flange distance (mirrorless) and a smaller sensor for there to be space in between the two for the speedbooster, and for the boosted (concentrated) image circle to cover the sensor.
