  • Not mine, but interesting.

  • Well. Done. Sir. Great buildup and punch line. And a nice job keeping the colors even throughout.

  • Agree with vapourtrail. Well done. Nice flow. Unexpected twist. This wasn't sanctioned by HBO right?

  • So on the money. Now that their writing and filmmaking is getting beat by basic cable networks they've regressed to gratuitous sex and F-Bombs in an effort to be edgy and relevant.

  • Ok, I don't have HBO but are they getting Cinemax like on there now?

  • Oh yeah, in fact sCinemax softcore really has nothing on what's being done in various HBO series now. The scenes will be longer, in actual softcore, but they don't look real and they stick to mostly meat-n-potatoes positions and the lipstick lesbian fantasies of the male gaze.

HBO series seem to be in competition with each other for realistic portrayals of stuff that's likely illegal in some states that have overzealous anti-sodomy laws (where the legal definition for that term is often any act that isn't a man and woman in the missionary position) It's often done quite realistically, and often with real porn star zeal (where softcore performances generally make me wonder, "have they ever really done it?") and only missing actual shots of penetration.

Last year, on Boardwalk Empire, for instance, they introduce a villain who likes it rough. There ended up being a pretty graphic depiction of erotic asphyxiation, his preferred bent, by way of having his women use his belt on him. I'm sure people were kinky back in the 1930s and I know the F-Bomb isn't a recent invention but all of this seems really over-done on an otherwise good show.

It seems to be a factor in most of the HBO shows that I'm aware of. Boardwalk Empire is the only one I watch regularly but I'm sure if you looked you could find "highlight" reels from the other shows like Spartacus and Game of Thrones, etc. Showtime seems to be taking a slightly higher road these days. And I'm not a prude by any means it just sometimes makes for uncomfortable viewing in mixed company. The main problem is these aren't erotic, "after dark" series they're the flagship dramas.

  • Yeah, gotta keep my windows closed when watching HBO, just in case someone walks by and has a heart attack!

    HBO: It's not porn

    Adult Swim: It's not dumb!

Other channels are getting HBO-ed.. Starz had extra sex and nudity added for the BBC series The White Queen.

It is all normal. If you want to reach maximum amount of monkeys - make general things without any thoughts or content, this they are doing for quite a time.

Monkeys are also very hot on sex and nudity. Sell them that.

Your human advantages have no real use in modern business.

  • Very true. LOL. Monkeys don't want to watch people just talking!
