Keeping the ultimate ergonomics and usability of Pentax DSLRs, the K-3 packs the deepest feature-set of any digital camera with a high number of genuinely useful photographic functions.
The K-3 outputs excellent image-quality with very low image-noise and superb retention of fine-details.
New autofocus system keeps the class-leading sensitivity of its predecessor and works perfect.
It’s a solid camera with excellent image quality. And Pentax boasts the most APS-C lenses of any DSLR manufacturer.

Video image quality is good and rolling shutter effect is well controlled in all but the most exaggeratedly fast pans. The built in microphone is wind sensitive and picks up other camera noises during recording in the auto setting; audio may also be captured manually or disabled altogether. The camera has an external microphone jack that can facilitate the recording of stereo sound during video capture.
Typical for Pentax camera offers a lot of performance and features at a relatively bargain price, including weather sealing and a continuous high-speed shooting capability in excess of 8 frames per second. The camera is compatible with Pentax lenses going back decades and because stabilization is built into the camera body you retain stabilization capability no matter how old your lens. The 23.3 megapixel effective resolution is a healthy jump over previous Pentax DSLRs, but Pentax has wisely also built in a fairly robust buffer capacity to support that 8 fps motor for those folks who lean heavily on the shutter button while shooting. The camera lacks an AA filter and the AA filter simulator demonstrated it wasn't up to the task of completely removing moire in what was admittedly a worst case scenario subject, thus making post processing a possibility in some cases.
What's the chance of the K-3 getting hacked for raw video? And why haven't we seen this happen with the K-5 series...? Does the K-3 have what's needed to see a hack be implemented? [This is by far my favorite camera setup out of any DSLR for stills]
What's the chance of the K-3 getting hacked for raw video?
It all depends on you :-) I made unpacker quite a time ago for almost all Pentax cameras.
Thing is I am not Shiva and do not have 128 hours in each day.
K-3 provides a welcome combination of innovative technology, excellent performance and a competitive price tag. Photographers looking for a new camera body on which to base a system should start their search with this camera.

We found the K-3 one of the nicest cameras to use of the DSLRs we've reviewed this year in terms of general handling comfort. It was also one of the top imaging performers for still photography

I was really interested to learn about the virtual anti-aliasing filter in the K3. The camera's anti-shake feature can be turned on or off to simulate the slight blurring of an AA filter element. It's a cool idea. I wonder if it works continuously in video mode?
For UK - On purchase of a Pentax K-3, consumers receive a minimum of £85 when they trade in any camera.
The offer will run until 31 December 2013.
Pentax brand deserves to finally get some attention in camera shops—the K-3 is camera that needs to be seen and held to be fully understood. It’s easy to look at black, DSLR-shaped bodies and assume that they’re all the same, but the truth is that Pentax DSLRs are among the nicest feeling cameras money can buy. Solid metal construction, impeccable handling, and that famous Pentax weather sealing make its high-end cameras ready to go wherever at a moment’s notice—neither snow, nor rain, nor heat will stop you.

The weather-sealed, magnesium alloy body is brand-new, and so is the high-res 24.3-megapixel image sensor, paired to a speedy new PRIME III image processor that's capable of 8.3 frames-per-second burst shooting. There's also a much finer-grained metering sensor, and the K-3 brings the first major overhaul of Pentax's phase-detect autofocus system in a decade. Pentax has also gifted the K-3 with dual high-speed SD card slots, swift USB 3.0 transfer, an overhauled movie mode complete with levels monitoring, and even -- via an optional accessory -- support for wireless live view shooting. The most exciting new feature, though, is the Pentax K-3's impressively-clever on-demand optical low-pass filtering system.

New firmware

I picked up my K3 about 10 days ago.
The autofocus seems much more responsive and accurate than my K5.
I haven't really done any video testing with it as I mainly use it for stills. The K5 was pretty useless for video as it had no manual option (except via some trickery) and the sensor would overheat quite easily.
However overall I'm quite impressed with the K3 as far as stills are concerned.
Any stills samples?
It provides the image quality, performance and feature set to compete with any other dSLR in its price range. Sporting a 24-Megapixel APS-C sized imaging sensor, real-time scene analysis, incredible AF system and a shutter that can provide up to 8.3fps, you will be hard-pressed to find anything that this camera doesn't excel at. In-Camera SR (Shake Reduction) allows any and every lens to work with the camera's image stabilization system. The great features don't stop there either. Dual memory card slots, Eye-Fi compatibility, pentaprism optical viewfinder, full 1080p HD video recording, HDR image capture and a fully weather-sealed body help to round out the best features; but there are still plenty more. All of the features provide unique and amazing shooting possibilities that will allow and enhance your creative photography.

@pundit I have two K5s, and I'm planning to get the K3. My doubts were about autofocus. I'm not satified at all with K5 autofocus, altough I got the latest firmware updates. I have difficulty especially in low light when I don't have much time to seek for focus. The worst performance is with the expensive da* SDM 16-50, while they go better with traditional autofocus. So can you confirm that autofocus has been improved? Do you have the 16-50 or any other sdm lens?
