I think you need to compare to the lenses designed from gound up as cine lenses.

Well, glass and aperture-wise, the superspeed CP2s are not ZFs or ZEs rehoused as they used to be. So, I would surmise that the CP2s are cine ground up. Of course, I have been wrong.

They did a side by with L lenses and the Canon Cine's at NAB - wish I would have seen it in more detail. Wondering if it's online somewhere. I've only tested these, haven't shot with them, but there is not a single soul I know who hasn't shot with the Canon Cines and absolutely loved them.
