@belfryman , it is strange, as 8.4 volts should work with the coupler ... There might be a voltage drop when you connect to 8.4 that can be a reason "cannot use this battery" any documentation ?
@belfryman - that is depressing, mine arrives on Monday - although its for a GH3, I've got the official Panasonic Coupler on order as well so hopefully that makes the difference from the Ebay ones.
I've ordered plenty of things from GMP although the GMP branded headphones didn't last - but they are a responsive company and I have never had a problem with them. Their batteries seem to be well used and have a good reputation.
@feha I got the pinch and battery today, their comms were very responsive and shipping was v fast, unfortunately just connected the battery to the coupler and inserted and GH2 says cannot use this battery. God knows why but it's pretty depressing after spending $1K on bloody batteries and pinches.
@feha I've ordered that global media pinch and one of their batteries, plus a couple of lanpartes, will let you know how it is once it's arrived.
@feha I think it's their own brand, nice someone has thought about GH2 users for a change. They seem awkward to get info out of though, if you go to contact us you need to have an order no to talk about to get through. Nice and cheap as well!
@sam_rides_a_mtb , To check battery level i use this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/121047062972
there is option for 3, 7.2v and 12v batteries ... one cell, two cell and 3 cell, two cell works great with Sony L, NPF batteries ...
@belfryman , this looks good, i don't know the brand in order to check for reviews ...
Has anyone bought one of these? They have an 8.4V output but I wonder if the cables connect to the cheap ebay couplers. I'm not good at finding the right tips to connect, just guess what I'm after.

I use the d-tap with the switronix GH2 adapter
@tvpglabs what output on the Lanparte V-Mount pinch do you use to power your GH2?
Someone said they use this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/230489661142?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
Found the same thing in a pack with 6 other tips in the US: http://www.powerstream.com/dc-tips2.htm
Yep, you can. We had some topic with pictures of similar gauge.
could you use something like this between charger and battery to know when its full, also when in use to know when its empty?: http://www.ebay.com/itm/12v-LED-battery-charge-level-monitor-meter-gauge-A-/190401282052?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c54cd0004
The lanparte battery cinch/pinch draws current if you leave the battery connected and everything off.
I fully charged my battery (lanparte supplied) and left attached to the cinch .. battery drops by a bar in two days .. two days later drops a second bar.
I fully charged my battery .. disconnected it from the cinch .. after 4 days still reading full charge.
I think it's nice to know .. or could kill a battery in a month .. I haven't opened it up and looked inside it as yet,
Thanks for that. I'm after a no-solder solution, this sounds like a good bet :)
@chainsawfilms I needed a tip in between the lead from the battery and the lead on the DCC8 coupler.
One criticism I have of the batteries is that they take an age to charge and don't really provide you feedback that they are fully charged. I just leave them charging overnight. At the price point, I cant really complain.
@kupchenpo not really. I've not seen any batteries heavy enough to be a good counterweight, and to be honest unless a weight is behind the shoulder (the pivot point) I don't see how it could work.
Best thing is the Wondlan shoulder pad that has the extendable plate, or gini rig with a rail attachment with a metal ballast, although that would fit onto the lanparte shoulder pad.
Thanks @itimjim I'll pick up a couple of these. I take it the 9v plugs directly into the DC coupler and you're away?
@chainsawfilms about 6 months, maybe more.
I use the lanparte v-mount battery with the gh2 no problem. You just need this adapter cord: http://www.switronix.com/news/204-switronix-releases-xp-cable-for-panasonic-lumix-gh2
That looks very interesting. No messing around, just plug and go :)
How long have you been using these?
