I'm certainly not calling him a saint, however he's able to provide for the poor were the American government can't. I think this is more of a political game more than anything and a big massive fuck you to Obama.

Chavez was never anti-American, that is just the tag that the media gives him. He is just very outspoken about imperialistic government actions and policies, also he believes in the welfare of the people above corporate interests and profit

He's such a great guy he decided to make the people in his country pay 33 % more for everything overnight so he could reduce the debt load so he can give out more shit.
