Best Encoder Settings for Upload onto Vimeo?

What are the best encoder settings to get the highest quality video onto Vimeo?

I use final cut pro and adobe premiere.

I think Sorenson Squeeze is a very good. Media Encoder does a good work, too. For sorenson there are very good presets.

Basically, my understanding is that since Vimeo will always recompress your file, the
highest quality will come from
720p MP4/AVC at the highest bitrate you have the patience to upload.

I don't think you chose a format that will avoid the recompress - if anyone knows otherwise I would be interested to hear.

I believe Vimeo will leave 24p, 25p, 29.97 and 30p intact. Not sure about higher rates - anyone?

No none higher, vimeo converts my 50p to 25p.
