Bringing down highlights and bringing up shadows in PP CS6

    I have a problem with the shadows and highlights effect. If I don't use the auto amounts setting the image starts to flicker, and even with auto settings it makes the video look crap, like crap Photomatix HDR photos. What should I use to manage highlights and shadows? I tried curves, but it doesn't bring down the highlights, I can't bring up the shadows properly.

    Can do it with fast colour corrector with the sliders

    Input levels and output levels. Left side in shadows and righ side is highlights, gamma in middle

    Thanks. It doesn't work as well as the Shadows Highlights effect, if I bring down the whites in the output levels it darkens the whole image.

    There are many different ways to do this, but the fastest and easiest is with the Luma filter.

    Luma filter? I can only find Luma curve, Luma corrector, Luma key.
