Guys, I am thinking about getting AX100.
What is your opinion of it as main wedding camera? Any owners here?
Here is a wedding shot with the AX100 by a guest (not the pro and not me):

Panasonic GH4 and Sony FDR AX100 Low-Light Comparison in 4K: Streets at Night
4K comparison video of street scenes and buildings at night. Both cameras mounted on a (lightweight) tripod. Both in Standard Picture Mode. Auto WB, shutter priority at 1/60th (180 degree shutter). Zebras used. Both lenses at f2.8. OIS was disabled.
The lens on the Panasonic was the Lumix 12-35mm f2.8. The scenes were matched in composition and exposure.
Edited in Sony Vegas Pro 13, rendering as 4K XAVC S at over 100 Mbps.
The first clip in each scene is the Panasonic.
Teardown
Very cool videos.
Thanks.
And, a bonus - Sony AX100 firmware update today (at least in the US)!
This utility updates the system firmware and provides the following benefits:
- Adds Direct Copy for XAVC S format support
- Adds the following auto focus performance improvements:
- Focusing accuracy for main subject
- Focus tracking performance on a person
- Adds the 1/50 shutter speed
- Improves zoom speed during movie recording"
Here is a video testing the focus tracking performance of the AX100, with the new firmware. No human I know wants to be tracked, so we will have to settle for these pretty tests. I have done this before, and I can say that other cameras have failed the same tests. (e.g., those Sony NEX cameras):
@markr041: Is also the overall AF performance better now (with the new firmware)?
pro version of AX100 to be released at end of this year.
