    BMC388 is made mostly for Black Magic cameras. Difference with previous models is that it has balanced outputs.

    Otherwise it is same 3 XLR inputs, support for phantom power, not really good (as it is few only) leds used for levels.

    And quite big $429 price (something about $300-350 margin here I guess).

    I've bought one. Quite expensive but the preamps are pretty good and it rigs very conveniently with the BMCC. Well let you know how I get on. The previous model BMC366 didn't even have a VU, even if it's low res.

    Has quite a few little tricks up its sleeve too. Selective power down 16db pad etc.
