Main thing here is idea and implementation.
With gearhub flexible rear chainstays (one of the options for folding bikes) require chain tensioner. With this solution you have fixed distance, so with horizontal dropouts can just slightly move the wheel.

I guess it's only for portable bikes, and the wheels look even smaller than the folding bikes I've seen. Cool though, I hope they can engineer a larger size.

It is 20" wheel - most common standard for folding bikes.
If you go to author page you'll see that he is riding on 26" wheels now and plan to make them also, but it need more work.
