The Canon N is a fun point-and-shoot camera that packs a lot of creativity into a small package. Going far beyond the standard creative modes and effects pallet, the N offers users a more tailored approach to their photography.
It's innovative and creative. It's a bit like opening a surprise gift every time you take a picture--you just never know what you'll get.

Even when shooting flash photos, the PowerShot N works very quickly. It has almost no shutter lag no matter what kind of shooting situation you have, and its shot to shot delays are minimal, especially compared to other thin point-n-shoot cameras. Canon has created a fast performing camera here, which is nice.
The N is also very easy to use, which is common among point-n-shoot cameras with a touch screen. As you make various selections on the screen, the LCD will display brief explanations of the features, which is handy.
There is one unique shooting mode that you'll find with the PowerShot N, called Creative Shot, where you press the shutter button once, and the camera creates six photos, each with its own special effect applied. However, you cannot choose the applied effects, which makes this shooting mode a little less fun and a little less useful than it could be. As an even stranger decision, Canon chose to include this Creative Shot mode as one of the options on a two-way toggle switch on the side of the camera, giving you easy access to this mode.

If Canon would make it a smart-phone...
The N100 delivered high image quality, even in low light. Looking at the Samples Page, you will see the impressive amount of detail the camera can produce, even at ISO 3200. This is certainly due in part to the larger-than-usual CMOS sensor, at 1/1.7-inch versus the much more common 1/2.3-inch size.

Making better camera from it
The Canon Powershot N2 looks good and produces decent images, but it's quite expensive

Clearly this is a camera aimed at fashion-conscious smartphone photographers who want better image quality and also the versatility of optical zoom.
The N2 can produce very attractive images with crisp detail, punchy colours and impressively low levels of image noise. Its fast autofocussing and accurate exposure metering also help compensate for the N2’s ergonomic bugbears.
