I wanted to post this in the topic "48p is King" but that topic has been closed.
There is a new article in Wired, about the way that "The Hobbit" is expected to change the way we see movies, especially since it is based on 48p and 3D.

Here's a nice quote: "A huge challenge across the board is the volume of data that is required for HFRs. Oatley reported that for The Hobbit production shoots 6-12TB of camera data per day. And the shooting schedule (for both parts of the two-part film) involves 265 days of principal photography."
And it is rumored that James Cameron will shoot 48p3D for "Avatar II."
