If anyone is into Linux programming and home electronics I'm sure you will have heard about the Raspberry Pi. The small form factor and programmability are the key.

The latest video for the additional Gert Board is interesting for anyone wanting to create a DIY FF

I see that Raspberry Pi are now developing a camera module. http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/1254 If anyone wants to give them the benefit of their expertise then please get involved with the Raspberry Pi forums. It would be a shame if they were to miss a trick or two. btw. my Raspberry Pi should be with me before the end of the month so I now have a personal interest in this.

I haven't ordered the case, I am still trying to justify the price of the sexy little thing, for something that will in all probability be a toy.

You don't need this thing, as much better things exist already, as small computers with Wi-Fi, USB and HDMI build on good and fast RK3066 chip.

Vitaliy is right, with 50$ you can buy much more powerful small computers. Remember also that the Raspberry at 25$ lacks of power supply. With 60$ you can even have a basic chinese tablet, so display included!

For more fun, get RK3066 mini computer. Or just small tablet, as you can find even $100 ones. $149 shipped will bring you one with IPS 1280x720 screen.

@goanna: I searched in the site but there's no mention anywhere of what they are going to do with the money. Possibly it's a charity for tax advantages and volunteer base. And possibly they use chinese manufactured components. I have nothing against Raspberry Foundation and the idea is quite intriguing, but claiming ethical reasons is at least questionable for me.

The RK3066 as a mini computer is interesting .. I think I'll get one as well.

Recommendations? I am Looking for something with I/O headers, and preferably an 'I don't have to do any work to get fedora or debian on it', and wired ethernet.
