ACTA
  • As you may know many guys now think that SOPA story had been used to decieve attention from ACTA approval.

This document had been mostly secretly developed and secretly signed by many countries.

Most importantis that it widens and improves approach of DCMA.

Eliminating courts and ability to defend yourself from equation.

  • My f***ed country (Slovakia) is one of the four which didn´t accepted ACTA now.. We have also problems with politicians here.. there is a secret (now public) document on the internet talking about the big dealings in our government.. it´s called gorilla.. and we now have demonstrations against the government and acta in every bigger city ..

But what I wanted to say is.. that most of our politicians carefully agree with anonymous , and they said they won´t accept ACTA rules as they are formulated now because they affect ordinary people, and they should be targeted at people who earn big money from piracy...

So that´s the situation in our country.. if one country won´t accept ACTA whole Europe won´t accept ACTA, so I hope this whole stupidity will end up soon..

  • if one country won´t accept ACTA whole Europe won´t accept ACTA

My understanding is that this is false. Each country here is individual.

  • sorry, I should wrote it better, I was having hard times finding it from a normal source (not a slovakian source) but here it is..

"European Parliament vote Regardless of the signatures that took place on Thursday, ACTA will not become EU law if the European Parliament votes against it in June. Should this happen, the signatures of the 22 EU member states and the EU itself would effectively be worthless."

If I understand it right.. there is chance to send ACTA back to drawing table..maybe it will come back or will be implemented in every country laws different , but I hope that all those demonstrations and petitions will save us...
