    This is Nikon owners chart.

    Actually the only thing this guys want is to get moderate profits, warrantied.
    Same thing is true for all major manufacturer.
    Top management did not like risk or fast innovations anyway, but now they had been told to maximize margins on most products.
    Nikon and Canon are still allowed to have consumer oriented cameras where margins are small and that sell mostly during sales.
    As this allows them to show big volume and keep things good.
