When I was a kid always thinking about "why all the cars are not in the shape of a Lamborghini, they are cool" (XD), when I got my driver license I did been driving my father's tiny Seat 600 for ten years and I still miss it :_) . Also this thread remembers me about the huge dimensions of those day's domestic sound equipment when, in the inside, there weren't vacuum lamps anymore.
Another interesting thing that RGB stuff dictates most computer cases design now. It is almost impossible to find anything with non transparent (and now even non glass!) side panel. And even front panels of lot of cases are solid transparent stuff to show front fans.
True, I did realize of that too. That thing ─the transparent cases─ is something that I always liked, but not for the reason that we are talking about here in this thread (to show off the equipment itself) but for the (commonly) hidden aesthetics of the electronics parts that make the things work <3
