Battery charger same price as camera!
It is better to compare price to the real crew delays cost and cost of additional Panasonic batteries ($69 each).
Doesn't see too costly such way.
I run my cameras on a $7 battery pack with from 2 to 6 18530 batteries. Runs all day.
Weirdly enough, the latest DSTE batteries (cheap) last exactly as long as the stock batteries on my G7 cameras. Which is great, but I never use them now since I use the battery pack.
There's a bunch of companies that make fast, dual charger for $25-$35, two of these and some DSTE batteries would be cheap, and the chargers would be smaller and lighter. I used these before I switched to the pack.
A battery pack is even better, since you just leave it plugged in.
Problem with cheap dual chargers is that they slow down when you put two batteries in, but I did OK rotating them them while filming as they got a decent charge after 2 hours. But nowhere near the 18530 packs.
I have some more expensive versions that allow for small voltage changes, but these are super easy to use and charge batteries in the case.

I could see, however, that a four bank charger could be useful if you want to go with the stock battery, and time is money.
Again, charger is not made for frugal one shooter.
My understanding is price reflect simple fact that it is properly made, safe and can take beating.
Many cheap Chinese chargers are horror inside.
