v1.10 firmware released
The free firmware update provides four key improvements to the camera’s shooting capabilities: the introduction of a 9-point dynamic-area autofocus (AF) AF-area mode, extension of maximum recording time of movies including 4K UHD movies, Flicker Reduction for still images, and electronic Vibration Reduction (VR) function for video recording.

Damn! Canon has never ever had this feature in their DSLRs?

4K ultra high-definition video has made its way to a full-frame Nikon camera. The D5 can record 3840 x 2160 resolution video at up to 30 frames per second for up to 29 minutes and 59 seconds. (Note, at the time of our field test, the camera was limited to 3 minutes of continuous 4K UHD video recording, but a June firmware update allowed the camera to record 8 files up to 4GB size for up to 29 minutes and 59 seconds of continuous 4K UHD recording).
Video performance itself is pretty good, it's disappointing that 4K UHD video is recorded with an approximately DX-sensor crop. Recording video with the full FX sensor is capped at 1080p resolution. Autofocus performance is okay, but Live View autofocus is still not very fast despite being improved from previous Nikon DSLRs.

Nikon D4s shooters will have to weigh a few things: One, is the addition of 4K capture something you think you absolutely need? Also, will capturing an extra frame per second and the promise of a deeper buffer make a huge difference to your shooting? If you already have a solid experience with the D4s’s AF system, then the D5’s improvements might not make a huge difference, though it is rated to function all the way down to the darkness of EV –4 while the D4s was rated down to EV –3. Again, it’ll depend on what you shoot.

The Nikon D5 is about pushing limits. This large professional DSLR has a full-frame 20 megapixels CMOS sensor which reaches a class-leading ISO 3,276,8,00 and can shoot continuously at 12 FPS for over 15 seconds and is even capable of 14 FPS with the mirror locked up.
