Trim is now available for Macs running Yosemite. (Trim tells the OS which blocks are available for overwrite. Overwrite operations create a lot of overhead for SSD's which does not exist for hard drives.) I implemented it on my two Samsung 500 GB SSD's. No problems. When you run the command, a big warning comes up. Make sure you have just backed up, and do a test restore before implementing trim. You must have admin rights. The command is "sudo trimforce enable". The command works on all SSD's. You cannot pick and choose if you have more than one.
Trimforce I believe has been around for some months now. Good to see that it works on all osx machines.
