I am looking for a small/medium tripod with fluid head for my B-Cams like BMPCC, 5DM3. Sometimes the cameras come with with 5" monitor and PadPrompter mounted. Actually I am using one of the Weifeng carbon tripods with a Manfrotto 438 Ball Leveler which can be a pain to find the level. I don't do much panning, it's almost for a second angle on interviews. It should be light for traveling by plane. I was reading the tripod & fluid head topics but still feel helpless. Thanks!
I love my Beike BK-777, makes for a very lightweight second tripod.
Then pop one of these fluid heads on it: https://www.youtube.com/user/NitsanPictures/search?query=fluid
Benro s2 is great but does not fit in a carry on case. Got mine for 140€, it is low on features but nice build quality and leveling ball is a must have.
I bought a used A+ Sachtler DA 75L at ebay for 250,-€ Still need a 75mm ball head.
I have this one. if I need to travel superlight. IMHO pretty much a sweetspot between price, wight and performance http://www.ebay.de/itm/141458967321?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Got the benro s4 very light, easy leveling, very good vertical pan, horizontal panning is ok minimum backlash.all in all very good travel tripod.think i paid round 200€ for Aluminium Magnesium version wich is really very light but sturdy so in my eyes no need for carbon. it packs small but height goes up to about 2meters wich is surprisingly high.if u got few extra bucks s6 and s8 heads are highly recomended due to better drag control.
