So, what about the 7D Mark II noise? Simply put: the camera produces amazing results. I used the camera at 200, 400, 800, 1,000, 1,200 and 1,600 ISO without feeling concerned at all. The files are rich and full of detail; images made at 1,600 ISO did show a little noise in the shadows, but there is a tremendous improvement over those same files from the original 7D. I have played around with ISO settings up to 16,000; impressive performance for an APS-C sensor.
It has the most powerful guts of any APS-C DSLR to-date. Focusing is fast as hell in pretty much any condition, especially tracking moving subjects. Low light performance is one small step above other APS-C cameras. You'll be able to shoot in any condition thanks to the robust weather-sealing. The camera is superbly customizable. Autofocus in video mode is great and makes shooting stills with live-view much easier.

Its sensor performance is somewhat behind the best in class, at least at low ISOs. Relatively high noise, less discriminating color, and below-average DR at base ISO all continue to hold back Canon sensors against rivals.

What really separates the 7D Mark II from lower-end Canon DSLRs like the 70D and Rebel T5i is sheer build quality. The body has absolutely zero flex whatsoever. Though the buttons are as gummy as they as on any Canon DSLR, all the dials, ports and switches seem to snap to attention. A big reason for this is the improved weather sealing, which mostly comes in the form of extensive rubber gasketing in seemingly every nook and cranny of the 7D Mark II.
