Mode dial in the back is an unnusual proposal.
LEDs in the front looks like a drag race starting semaphore :)
What do those lights do?

Pulsing in sync with your heartbeat.
Finally!
This has to be a hoax - l'm a pentaxian since 2006 and I know Ricoh wants to differentiate but a k-mount dslr with the grip and layout of a mirrorless and silly LEDs just doesn't seem very Ricoh to me!

I think it is humble beginning, next ones will be much more... special.

K-02 with lasers and fluorescent yellow (the proper color)? :)
@Vitaly_Kisalev - you think ff from ricoh?
I think Ricoh will sync their FF with second coming.
I just have big problems with usability when looking at this design - how do you handle this thing? Ergonomics was a stand out feature of the legacy Pentax dslr line. Ugh - I guess if I want ff k mount in the future it'll have to be something to get used to...
Truly hoping that Ricoh will not be gimmicking up their products for the Asian market and to be "different" when it comes to FF.
As well I really wish they'd get the f**k up to speed when it comes to video - the K3 has an external headphone port for the love of Mike, but wow, the technical implementation of video was wayyy below sub-par: codec is just bog standard and WTF is up with that digital SR that turns any shot at a focal length greater than 28mm into jello? As well, the new 645Z has ridiculously horrible video specs.
I have a K30 and I'm OK with it's video for casual use but of course detest the digital SR. I had a K7 and actually really liked the footage from the mjpeg output as well as the mechanical SR stabilization, but there was the whole issue of manual exposure control that just didn't happen without ridiculous tricks required - even then it was tricky.
I'm hoping Ricoh, when engineering products from the ground up without the legacy of Hoya hanging around their collective neck will wake up and give us decent, useable video on their higher-end products!
Well, now you can have proper S1 for each food
Fear what will be the picture companion when they release the brown one. :)
Those who purchase a K-S1 can now receive a free Pentax O-FC1 Flucard.
In UK and EU as I understand, till the end of the year.
The Pentax K-S1 may be intended to expand the appeal of the Digital SLR to a younger market, but it also retains all the necessary photographic qualities to make high-quality images possible. It can appeal to a wide variety of users looking for a well specified and efficient DSLR. The customisation of the K-S1 via a multitude of colours is a bonus.
