Very strange bokeh in top photo....
I'm using one of these with my Fs100 and it has a terrible geometrical distortions, specially in presence of vertical lines
I believe there's a sony page which specifies which nex cameras have the firmware that corrects it. FS100 and 700 are not on the list.
Sony E PZ 18-105mm f/4G OSS is a solid performer. In the central areas of the frame, the lens delivers good to very good sharpness throughout its entire zoom range. The border areas are admittedly more problematic, requiring you to stop down to f/8 to get acceptable results, but you'll have to make a fairly big print – certainly beyond A4 size – to start noticing the deficiencies.

How do the zoom and focus rings feel and behave? The only focus by wire lens I have is an olympus m43 lens, and if you change focus even at medium speed (and especially at fast speeds) the focus jumps in what almost appears digital steps, not a smooth change. Is this the case with this sony lens, or do they have a better implementation?

Here is the lens in action - including two zooms, showing smoothness and parfocal behavior.
Hi @markr041 I looked on the Vimeo page and saw no technical information... Was it shot wide open at F4.0?
@CFreak Mostly at F8, to maximize resolution and maximize DOF where appropriate.
